In the chapter problems, #46, the answer is given as 18V. If there is positive work done and the charge is negative, shouldn't the potential difference be negative as well?

Eric, the work done by the electric field is equal to W = -q delta V. Since q is negative and the work done is positive, delta V will be positive. The work done by an external force would be + q delta V. John
